Description
There is a pervasive thought that the woman is a feeble and subjugated creature; that she is to be coddled and kept. But there are the societies that remind us that though the woman is delicate, she is powerful and necessary; she is a partner in life’s goings on. Aracuva, the name of the boat steered and commanded by a woman in Nzuelezo [a village on stilts in Western Ghana] is a reminder that the woman is powerful and in control of her destiny.
