The Dates

ENGAGEMENT DATE: March 13th, 2018

WEDDING DATE: April 20th, 2019.

How did you meet?

LÉEL: A mutual friend of ours had a movie lime on August 19th, 2015 to see “Man From Uncle”. We both were at that lime. I was the only woman there. Jovon and I got into a heated debate at this lime. I couldn’t take him at all. Lol. But let’s not talk about the lil’ crush he had on me from seeing my pics on Facebook before we even met. ?

JOVON: We went to the movies with a mutual friend we were introduced to each other. From there we started to speak on social media etc.

When Did You Know That He Was The One?

LÉEL: I don’t believe in the concept of “the one” I just knew I wanted someone dark and chubby, with a sense of humour, who I could be relaxed with and who loved me deeply openly and sacrificially. And I mean Jovon is that.

I truly enjoy Jovon’s company. It’s fun and vibezy. We share similar opinions and morals and even when we “fall out” ah does still want to be around him.

When Did You Know That She Was The One?

JOVON: I don’t believe in the concept of “the one” but through my daily interactions with Léel I knew that I wanted to spend my life with her. I knew I wanted to tell her “good morning” , “good afternoon”, “good evening” and “good night” for the rest of our lives. She had a lot of qualities I knew I wanted. She truly is my voluptuous queen, a sweet soul with manifold beauty inside and out.

What are you favorite things about your husband? Why?

LÉEL: I love his wit and the way it ties in with his sense of humour. I love to laugh so I love that he keeps me laughing but I also love that I never know how he is going to make me laugh next. I also love how unintentionally funny he is sometimes, for example, he will say something and I will be dying with laughter and he would be legitimately lost as to why I weak.

I love his laugh and his smile because they are both comforting and turn me on ?. Also his voice and his face.

I love that he speaks his mind, there is no pretense, I can take his word, I don’t have to guess. I mean sometimes I does cah take it, the blunt honesty, but I still appreciate it.

He is dependable. I am more of a go with the flow type of person so I’m glad that I can depend on him. If he says he will be there, he will be there. If he says he will do something, he will do it.

He leaves himself undone to ensure that I am provided for.

His resilience and persistence even when things are difficult.

The way he thinks and reasons things through. He is also very good at self-assessment.

What are your favorite things about your wife? Why?

JOVON: Her voice because it’s soothing and sexy.

She does all she can to avoid conflict which saves us from plenty drama.

She has a sense of humour so she is fun to be around and we can spean a lot of time just laughing at everything and nothing.

Her intellect I’m intrigued by her mind, she thinks for herself and forms her own opinions and because of this, she is not super-spiritual.

She is not judgmental and I love her humility.

She is always looking for the good in people.

She is ambitious.

She is kind and has a good heart.

She is gorgeous and sexy.

I love her thighs.

Share the kindest/grandest thing that your husband has done for you.

LÉEL: Hmmmm…..there are so many. But I would say his proposal. It was fashioned after one of my favorite movies, “The Truman Show”. His attention to detail was overwhelming.

Share the kindest/grandest thing that your wife has done for you.

JOVON: A surprise birthday party on a yacht for my birthday. She invited all my closest friends and added personal touches of my favourite sport basketball. I was dumbfounded and totally surprised.

Who popped the question? Describe the moment, event or day.

LÉEL: He did. For me, it was beyond touching but it really was inexplicable: I couldn’t stop laughing.

JOVON: For me, it was a relief, I wasn’t nervous before but after I was shaking and jumpy. Before I was excited. It was just a nice feeling, a nice day.

What was your vision for your wedding?

JOVON: We just wanted it to reflect us and be authentic. Léel wanted it to feel cozy and homey like our love and relationship and I wanted our personalities to come out.

LÉEL: Jovon loves movies and we both love the drama/acting/theatre so we had a red(wine) carpet, velvet rope entrance and theatre-like curtains on the stage. Our colour scheme was wine, navy blue, champagne, blush, and ivory.

What would you say was the most special moment on your wedding day?

JOVON: Her surprising me with a Spoken Word piece.

LÉEL: The exchange of vows and him singing Kes, “Radar” for me as a surprise with a live band.

Where did you go and what did you do for your honeymoon?

Sandals Ochi, Jamaica. C’mon you know what we did ?.

What is your best memory of your honeymoon?

JOVON: Everything at Sandals is included except certain expensive wines. One night at dinner there was this older couple who wanted to send something over to a younger couple who were on their honeymoon. They expressed their desire to send this gift over in the grandest way.The waiter informed them the only thing that they can send over which the couple could not order themselves was a bottle of wine. The couple back peddled and opted to send dessert….which the couple could have gotten themselves. Léel and I spent the rest of the honeymoon laughing at that.

LÉEL: Dancing the night away at the secret Speakeasy Club. We have a lot of other fond memories.
